Fees

Beginning July 1st 2023, all Medicare appointment will incur a GAP PAYMENT payable by patients for their ‘care plans”. This means that we will no longer be bulk billing Osteo appointments.

Currently Medicare is paying $56.00 for all Chronic Disease Management (Care plan) consultations. These are the consultations that make up the total of 5 consultations allocated by Medicare to allied health services.

The current osteopathy fees are $90/session, therefore, as of July 1st, a gap of $34.00 will apply to all care plan appointments. Explanation of the payments and refunds will be done in the section below. The $34 gap CANNOT be covered by private health rebates.

The above changes ONLY applies to Medicare Chronic Disease Management (Care Plans) as given by your GP.

These new changes DO NOT affect private consultations and health care rebates from private health insurance.

If you have any questions, send an email or ask Dr Gee at your next appointment.

Making Medicare Payments:

You will have two options to make payments under the Medicare CDM program.

  1. Pay full fee at the end of your treatment consultation and then go home and claim the Medicare fee from Medicare.
  2. You will need to bring your Medicare card and Bank card (savings/cheque account only). At the end of your treatment, we will charge full fee to your bank card and then use your Medicare card to claim your Medicare fee of $56.00 from Medicare, then refund it back to your bank account using your savings or cheque card (debit card). Currently Medicare cannot refund to credit cards.

N.B. As of July first, all Osteopathy appointments will have to be paid in full by yourself at each appointment.
